Jack Morgenstein – Senior President

Hello! My name is Jack Morgenstein. I’m the senior president and a senior majoring in mechanical engineering, computer science, and mathematics. My hometown is Cary, just a bit down the road. My favorite Duke Debate memory is traveling to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and getting to meet other debaters from all over the world.

Umang Dhingra – Internal Vice President

My name is Umang Dhingra, I use she/her pronouns. I’m a junior from New Delhi, India, studying psychology and sociology with a child policy certificate. I’m IVP of Duke Debate this year! One of my favorite memories of Duke Debate is dancing into the New Year at worlds in Vietnam last year. I’m excited to introduce new students to British parliamentary this year and coach the coolest debate team!

Emily Yagoda – External Vice President

Hi! I’m Emily, and I’m a senior from Long Island, New York, majoring in Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. As the Executive Vice President (EVP), I’m responsible for managing the team’s tournament and travel logistics. My favorite Duke Debate memories include reconnecting with debate friends from around the world at tournaments and bonding with the Duke Debate team during various social events and competitions.

Vritti Chopra – Secretary

Hi everyone! My name is Vritti Chopra, and I am serving as Secretary this year. I’m from Irvine, California, and I’m majoring in Computer Science and Psychology with a certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. To me, Duke Debate has been both an incredibly enriching learning and social experience. My favorite memory from Duke Debate is exploring Vanderbilt University and Downtown Nashville with the team.

Pranav Rastogi – Treasurer

Hi! My name’s Pranav and I’m the treasurer this year. I’m from Cincinnati, OH studying evolutionary anthropology and economics with the hope of going to medical school. My favorite memory from Duke Debate was our competition in Seattle — loved walking around Pike Place Market and downtown.

Emily Zou – Events Coordinator

Hi! I’m Emily Zou, and I’m the events coordinator for Duke Debate. I’m originally from Portland, Oregon, and I’m majoring in Data Science with a minor in finance. My favorite Duke Debate memory is break night in Mexico City for NAUDC.

Gabrielle Moreau – Study Abroad Rep

Hi everyone! My name is Gabrielle Moreau and I am a junior majoring in Geography and Environmental Policy. I love debate as a way to think critically about moral and political issues. I’m currently at King’s College London, and I’ll be in Cambodia this Spring studying Mekong ecologies and conservation. Even though I won’t be on campus this year I’m excited to stay connected with the team and to be a link to the team for other members studying abroad.
